Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to Common Questions
Is handmade skincare safe to use?
Absolutely! All of my water-based products use industry-standard preservatives to kill gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It also prevents mold and yeast growth. I follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines to ensure your product arrives sterile, sanitary, and ready to use. For more information, read the blog article.
Is Materia Medica vegan and cruelty-free?
My small business is 100% vegetarian and cruelty-free! Some of my products contain locally- or ethically-sourced beeswax, but beeswax is not vegan. I only ship within the United States; nothing is sold in Mainland China or anywhere animal testing is required.
